Who are you:

Pan’s is looking for a Director of Sales to take our organization’s sales team to the next level. To help us continue our growth, we are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Sales Manager with 5-10 years of CPG experience.

You are self-motivated, enterprising and have the hands-on ability to manage our existing accounts. You also have the vision and experience to drive growth with new customers and channels (wholesale, catering, club, events, Amazon and D2C).

Ideal candidates will have multi-channel sales experience, excellent communication and presentation skills, and the ability to build strong, trusting relationships with customers.

This role is based in Portland and will be a mix of on-site and remote work. We prefer someone who is local to Portland, but open to a full-time remote position. a Ability to travel is required.

What you will do:

The Director of Sales will report to the CEO and be responsible for all Wholesale, Restaurant, Club, Corporate, Events, eCommerce and DTC revenue as well as Sales P&L. You will work closely with multiple departments (marketing, production, finance, etc.) to ensure current accounts are managed and supported. You will strategize and develop long-term plans that will unlock new growth opportunities for the business.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with CEO to set sales targets and objectives in line with business objectives and manage sales P&L.

  • Develop, manage and track the sales team’s budget.

  • Lead our existing sales and accounting team and build the team as we grow.

  • Manage existing accounts and strategize growth and territory expansion opportunities applicable to Wholesale, Restaurant, Events, Amazon and DTC channels

  • Negotiate deals, set promotion schedules, increase online sales, sell new items, manage trade spend, create post-promo analytics, and coordinate retail programs.

  • Manage relationships with brokers and distributors. Work with both to develop realistic launch strategies with new accounts and distributor relationships in new markets, providing planning support and managing opportunities.

  • Establish and continually improve merchandising and in-store execution standards, ensuring all product placements are maximized and supported, organizing store visit schedules and closely monitoring quality and presentation .

  • Support new wholesale account launches with onboarding documents and working with Pan’s operations, fulfillment and production teams to help ensure success.

  • Ensure ongoing communication on sales activity with customer service, marketing and supply chain/production teams, including volume forecasts.

  • Review and analyze sales data from multiple sources such as Spins, Nielsen, internal data, and broker and distributor reports to establish and increase sales speeds.

  • Establish and continually improve CRM tools and processes.

  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement, diversity, respect and inclusion.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years of sales experience in a consumer packaged goods company

  • At least 2 years of experience directly managing people and/or cross-team functional teams

  • Able to take initiative, set priorities, solve problems and manage a high volume of work under tight deadlines

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize workflow based on capacity and urgency

  • Detail oriented and organized

  • Ability to interact with multiple communication styles in an inclusive and respectful manner

  • Experience leading cross-team collaboration, communication and workflow

  • Ability to manage, develop and advance work to a high level without direct day-to-day supervision

  • Interest in growing with a fast-paced business

  • Ability to travel

  • Comfort and knowledge with various computer programs/systems/applications including Hubspot (or other CRMs), Apple products (Macbooks), Google and Microsoft suites, Quickbooks, inventory management systems (customer order entry), etc.
