Examiner-in-charge Jim DeVoe-Talluto has been promoted to deputy director of captive insurance in the Department of Financial Regulation.
DeVoe-Talluto succeeds Christine Brown in this role, who was recently promoted to director of captive insurance for the captive insurance division.
He has been with the captive division since 2004, having been a lead examiner for 17 years, and was a examiner/analyst before that.
Prior to joining the Division, DeVoe-Talluto spent 3 years in accounting and captive management. Additionally, he served for the past 2 years as Chair of the Risk-Based Oversight Task Force, an internal team that reviews NAIC guidance and presents updated guidance and procedures to the Department to ensure compliance with NAIC accreditation requirements.
Christine Brown, Director of Captive Insurance, said: “Jim is a highly respected member of our regulatory team and a pleasure to work with.
“He has made many valuable relationships within the Vermont captive insurance industry over the years through his curious and helpful nature, and we expect him to expand those relationships in his new role.
“Jim has deep knowledge and perspective to bring to the licensing team and we are delighted to welcome him.”
Sandy Bigglestone, Deputy Commissioner of Captive Insurance, added, “We are committed in Vermont to maintaining quality regulation and a stable environment that allows captives to thrive. Jim’s promotion to Assistant Manager is another example of our commitment.
“It made sense to round out our management team again from within. Jim is kind, curious and always ready to bring a new perspective. I look forward to seeing what’s to come with this great team and all the staff supporting this important work within the Division.
