Equiti Group, a provider of online trading technology and multi-asset financial products, opened a new office in Limassol, Cyrus, on Monday. This is an addition to the nine other local offices that Equiti operates in Europe, UK, Middle East, Americas, Africa and Asia-Pacific regions.

The opening of the new office comes just over a month after the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) granted a license Equiti Group’s Cypriot subsidiary, Equiti Global Markets Limited, to operate in Europe. The CySEC license marked the Group’s 8th regulatory license.

Mohamed Alahmad, co-founder and managing director of Equiti Group, described the new office as “a major milestone” for the group. He added that the launch of the office is “an important part of our global growth strategy”.

With the new office, Alahmad noted, the company will be able to offer its business-to-business offering to brokers in Europe under the regulatory oversight of CySEC.

“Cyprus’ location in Europe, EU membership, thriving community of fintech and FX brokers, investor-friendly environment and respected market regulator, CySEC, make this country an ideal place for Equiti to support our brokers in Europe,” Alahmad explained in a statement shared with finance tycoons. The co-founder further explained that the new office will “build on the strengthening” of the firm’s global network and bespoke liquidity solutions.

Equiti and expansion

That’s even when Equiti Group said it plans to further expand its presence globally over the next three years. Equiti Group is looking “to continue acquiring licenses in other new markets around the world”.
