New Delhi, Jul 25 (PTI) Emkay Global Financial Services and brokerage firm Abira Securities have approached market regulator SEBI for a mutual fund license. In this way, MK and Abira have also joined companies seeking to enter the mutual fund industry. Already, seven companies have applied to the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) for a mutual fund license. According to information posted on the SEBI website, Emkay Global applied on March 4, while Abira Securities applied for SEBI on March 24.

According to information posted on the SEBI website, Emkay Global applied on March 4, while Abira Securities applied before Sebi on March 24.

Previously, PhonePe, WiseMarkets Analytics Pvt Ltd, UniFi Capital, Alchemy Capital Management, Helios Capital Management, Old Bridge Capital Management and Angel One also applied for SEBI’s approval to enter the mutual fund industry.

Currently, 43 companies are active in the mutual fund industry.
