Daily Crunch Sales Manager – Western US

(This is a remote position, but candidates must reside on the West Coast and/or have in-depth knowledge of the area and retailers).

Daily Crunch is distributed by KeHE, UNFI, DOT Foods and Core-Mark at over 900 distribution locations nationwide at major grocery stores and boutiques as well as Thrive Market, Amazon, Boxed.com, airports and hotels . We bring innovation to a loyal but dusty nut category by creating a NEW sprouted sub-category through our bright, bold and revolutionary packaging.

We are Certified Non-GMO, Certified Vegan, Certified Women-Owned, and one of the first snack companies to source 100% of our almonds exclusively from Bee-Friendly Certified farms. We just moved our bags to Post Recycled Plastic (PCR) and a portion of our proceeds go to The Support Network, which helps promote mental health awareness on college campuses. THE ROLE

DAILY CRUNCH is looking for an enthusiastic Sales Manager as we are growing so rapidly that we need someone who can be hands-on and take ownership of our relationships with these retailers. In this role, you will prioritize your time to focus on the highest impact areas, while working with and inspiring our teams of brokers, distributors, third party sales resources, retailers and our dynamic team to offer a whole greater than the sum of its parts. . You will lead, manage and own the business across the West Coast. With laser focusing, you’ll explore and create new opportunities, while building on the high speeds we’re already seeing in the market.

This role will work closely with our COO as well as the extended team to drive the development, sales and promotion of the Daily Crunch brand while building brand loyalty across all sales channels. RESPONSIBILITIES

Collaborate with senior management, marketing, and national accounts to communicate and execute the company’s strategic direction, priorities, and financial safeguards as you assess rolling forecasts.

Set measurable goals by territory and by customer (which will eventually lead to the hiring of regional sales managers in the key markets you will manage).

Establish and manage partnerships with distributors (broker team of 35+) and our brokers in each region of the western United States, while creating incentive programs for the performance of both. Set KPIs and track monthly to ensure clear goals and expectations.

Manage key retailers: Establish promotion schedules, new item sales and tracking, trade spend investment planning, post-promo analysis and retail programs, focusing on awareness and trials via secondary placement, expedition programs and demonstrations.

Create innovative presentations for all business and channel partners designed to generate brand excitement and action-oriented response.

Design and execute short and long term master plans for portfolio architecture, territory expansion, marketing support, budgets, sales forecasts by SKU and distributors.

Execute retail marketing trade programs in partnership with your region’s marketing team (including, POP, demos, retailer programs, retailer events, trade programs).

Travel approximately 15 times per year to the United States for client meetings, team events and trade shows.

Participate in non-store marketing events in local markets that are critical to brand success and energy in that market. Founders do the same and find it can be the best way to get open and honest brand feedback!

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Deeply passionate about Daily Crunch and inspired by what we stand for. Has the desire and hunger to make an impact.
  • Obsession with understanding customer behavior: lives, breathes and dreams of better reaching and understanding our retailers and end consumers.
  • Enthusiastic and comfortable working in a start-up company. Ability to think quickly in a growing and changing environment.
  • Experience in the natural products industry and relevant trade classes with CPG sales experience in the highly preferred SNACKS/NUTS/BETTER-FOR-YOU GROCERY grocery spaces.
  • Established relationships and experience working with key retail accounts in the region including KeHE and UNFI.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently – you can run with something from start to finish.
  • Works well with ambiguity – can navigate the gray and ask the right questions to find the solution.
  • Quickly analyze opportunities and have the ability to effectively execute company objectives.
  • Resourcefulness to improvise and adapt to meet daily challenges through creative problem solving.
  • Strong planning, organizational and project management skills, as well as excellent interpersonal, written/oral and presentation skills.
  • Full proficiency with G-Suite and Microsoft Suite.
  • 5-10 years of sales experience in a consumer packaged goods company, broker and/or
  • Proficiency in data tools (SPINS, retailer portals) and business mathematics (selling price, margins, etc.).
  • Clean driver’s license and reliable transportation to local accounts for in-store promotional events. Proof of insurance.
  • This is a remote position, but applicants must reside on the West Coast (California to Washington) and/or have knowledge of the area.
