We are also currently working remotely and can offer a variety of remote work and office work as offices in North Yorkshire begin to reopen.

Current brokerage hours are Monday to Sunday: 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. There is a requirement to work weekends, for which an additional allowance is currently payable.

At this exciting time, we are looking for permanent brokers to join our department who are part of our onboarding team, part of our health and adult services directorate. The integration team works across the health and social care system to improve outcomes for people, working closely with internal and external partners.

You would join us at an extremely difficult and crucial time for the development of North Yorkshire and County Council. We continue to respond to the Covid pandemic and advance our work with our partners to develop a distinct program of public health and social care for adults. This aims to help more people live longer, healthier and independent lives.

The Brokerage Service is an established county-wide team responsible for sourcing care packages/placements to meet assessed health and social care needs for adults in North Yorkshire. As a broker, you will play a critical role in developing and updating information on local care providers and sourcing care packages, which will include executing contracts and associated financial and administrative tasks.

Brokers work closely with healthcare colleagues to support safe hospital discharges for all NYCC residents. It places huge demands on the brokerage service, so time management skills, the ability to set priorities, use your own initiative and manage your workload effectively will be essential.

The ability to work with spreadsheets and customer databases and quickly assimilate numbers and information will be fundamental.
